Welcome to
Millerranchoutfitters.net

The Miller Ranch consists of 1,000 acres of prime Columbian Blacktail Deer habitat. The ranch's rolling to steep hills are covered with a combination of timber, scrub brush, oaks and meadows. All of which make for outstanding blacktail habitat.

Add nutrient rich burn areas and abundant water and you have a combination that cannot be beat for producing trophy class Columbian Blacktail.

One thing that makes Miller Ranch unique is that it operates under the California Department of Fish and Game's "Private Lands Management"
Program (PLM). This program allows us to work in conjunction with Fish and Game to carefully manage Blacktail Deer numbers. In return we are allowed to set our own deer hunting season dates.

Miller Ranch Blacktail Hunts

Secondly, in 1986 when planning Miller Ranch's management program, it was decided to limit all deer hunting to the use of archery equipment only! This gives the serious bow hunter an excellent opportunity to have a quality guided hunt and bow hunting experience during both early and late seasons without competition from rifle hunters.

Richard Eriksen has lived on the Ranch since 1964 and will guide you on your hunt. Richard's parents taught him to rifle hunt at an early age and in 1986 he started the "archery only" program that has carried on until today. Richard is not only a Blacktail guide is also a dedicated bowhunter. When Richard is not guiding blacktail hunts on the ranch he can often be found bow hunting. He has hunted from Mexico to Canada harvesting a number of big game animals, including all of the North American deer species. All of which qualify for the Pope and Young Record book.
